The Arthur Venn Fundraiser of the Year is currently the director for the Brisbane-based consulting firm HomeMade Digital Australia, which aid global NGOs to create engaging integrated supporter experiences to raise more money and reach more people through digital marketing, and creative and storytelling.
The voluntary role will begin in February next year, and involve driving innovation and sustainability in fundraising cross national and international organisations.
She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having marketed and developed the health and welfare of programs in the US, Europe and Asia. She has established NGpOs in Australia, the US and the UK, and has extensive partnerships with organisations including Kids Help Line Australia, BoysTown, Cancer Council Queensland, Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
In February this year, Dwyer was awarded the Arthur Venn Fundraiser of the Year which is given to an outstanding fundraiser who has demonstrated consistent excellence and ethical best practice through their actions and leadership.
In 2017, Dwyer was elected a Fellow of the FIA and has served on the Queensland Committee of the organisation since 2010. The University of Queensland graduate said in a statement, “marketing and the development of health and welfare programs has been recognised internationally and presented at conferences in the US, Europe and Asia. I have established non-profit organisations in Australia, the US and the UK, and have extensive experience in governance and legal aspects. Past employers include Kids Help Line Australia, BoysTown, Cancer Council Queensland, Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
According to the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), women make up only 29.7 per cent of the boards of the country’s largest 200 listed companies, with a total of four boards in the ASX200 comprised entirely of men.
FIA’S chief executive Katherine Raskob, Dwyer’s unique skills and incredible experience will be invaluable to the organisation.

The Australian fundraising sector is worth $9.9 billion and charity members include other fundraising NGOs operating domestically and internationally as well as the organisations and professionals that provide services to them.
Earlier this year, Dwyer spoke at the DIGI RAISE Conference in Melbourne on ways to leverage work-around out-of-the-box digital platforms and offered tactics with digital supporter journeys to maximise fundraising.
