What will the future of work look like for women in STEM?

Women’s Agenda, in partnership with the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship and Uber Australia will be hosting an intimate after-work panel event on the 20th of June for interested readers. Register here!

The future of work is a topic that crops up a lot as we try to navigate changing landscapes across every industry.

But the future of work in STEM is particularly critical for women. Right now these industries– science, tech, engineering and maths– are heavily dominated by men. This has been the case for decades.

But in order for our economy to thrive, we need to ensure the STEM workforce is diverse and gender equal. We need to be bold in our disregard for outdated stereotypes and make sure girls and women are encouraged to participate. We need more women in STEM fields to ensure our innovations are right for the whole population– not just half of it.

There are countless opportunities if we get this balance right. At the same time that other industries are being dismantled as a result of artificial intelligence capabilities, STEM is only ramping up. The scope for these fields is limitless.

That’s why Women’s Agenda, in partnership with the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship and Uber Australia will be hosting an intimate after-work panel event on the 20th of June for interested readers.

The event will open up a thought-provoking dialogue between a number of industry heavyweights including Associate Professor at UNSW Caroline Ford, CEO of Folo, Dr Raji Ambikairajah,  founder and CEO of HALO Medical devices Hayley Warren, Uber Australia Director of Communications Michelle Woods and Antler’s Harini Janakiramanan. The conversation will be moderated by Women’s Agenda Editorial Director and CEO, Angela Priestley who will also share an important announcement.

Get practical tips and support, whether you’re working in STEM, are interested in a career in the field or have a STEM startup at any stage. This interactive and informative discussion will include the opportunity to share your thoughts, ask questions and network with other like-minded women. (There will also be wine and canapés– a nice escape from the Winter cold!)

We have limited seats, so make sure you get in quick!
