July unemployment figures released today showed an increase in part-time employment as well as a decrease in female unemployment.
The latest Australian Bureau of Statistic figures show a stable unemployment rate of 5.2% for July, with the number of people employed increasing by 14,000 to 11,512,600, driven by an increase in full-time (male and female) and part-time (female) employment.
Part-time employment saw an improvement, while the number of people looking for part-time work decreased by 17,100 to 177,500.
The female unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 points to 5.3%, while the male unemployment rate increased 0.2 points to 5.2%.
The workplace participation rate remained steady at 65.3%, according to the ABS.
