Google US picks up leading Australian woman in tech

Karen Stocks will soon head over to the United States, to take the lead of the measurement solutions team at Google.

Karen was formerly the managing director of Twitter Australia, a role she left in October 2016 after three years.

She makes the return to Google after previously spending five years with the tech giant, including as managing director of mobile and social solutions for the Asia-Pacific region. She initially joined Google as online sales and operations manager, from Vodafone, where she started her career and later served as general manager of service strategy.

Karen tweeted that she’s excited to be heading over to the US, noting Google is a “great company, great people, important work!”

Karen is expected to make the international move in June. A passionate netball supporter, she will continue on as a non-executive director of Netball Australia.
