A women’s rights group in the Kurdistan region is campaigning against honour killing, following the killing of several women in the region in the last few weeks.
The Zhiyan [Life] Group organised a demonstration against honour killing condemning the killing of Kurdish girl Nigar Rahim, who was raped by one of her brothers and killed by another.
The demonstrators, dressed in white, carried banners saying “Enough killing women” and paid tribute to Rahim at her gravesite.
