Nominations now open for the 2020-21 Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards!

Leadership Awards

With so much uncertainty the past 12 months, we weren’t entirely sure whether we’d be able to bring The Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards to life this year.

But we’re thrilled to announce that we’re full steam ahead with some exciting new categories in the mix reflecting sectors and areas which have been key to Australia’s progress through the pandemic and the vast number of women working within them who have led us through crisis with strength, intelligence, empathy and courage.

There’s so much to feel hopeful about when we look to Australia’s emerging female leaders.

Thanks to the support of our headline partner, Salesforce and category partners Telstra Health and Accor Hotels, nominations are now open, with the event set to move ahead at Sydney Swissotel on the 29th of April.

New categories include, Emerging Leader on Climate Action, Emerging Leader in STEM, and Five Heroes from the Frontline– celebrating women who led on the frontline during the pandemic and bushfire crisis.

Other categories include Emerging Leader in Tech, Emerging leader in the Public Sector and Universities, Emerging Leader in the Private Sector, Emerging Leader in Health, Emerging Leader in the NFP Sector, Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year and Agenda Setter of the Year.

“Salesforce is delighted to partner with Women’s Agenda to shine a light on emerging female leaders,” said Salesforce APAC CEO, Pip Marlow.

“Leading through uncertain times takes a unique combination of resilience, emotional intelligence and courage. Over the last twelve months, it was exciting to see so many women step forward and lead on the front lines. The Leadership Awards gives us the chance to recognise that work.”

This year’s finalists will face a line-up of brilliant judges from across industries; men and women who know exactly what it takes to lead with conviction through challenging times. We’ll be announcing the full list of judges early next week.

And Women’s Agenda is delighted to reveal that Shirley Chowdhary, an internationally recognised leader across Indigenous education, law, financial services, funds management, journalism and the NFP sector will be chairing the judges’ panel once again.

“In a year that’s been challenging for most people in Australia, especially women, this program reminds us that we are in safe hands for the future,” Women’s Agenda’s Editor in Chief, Tarla Lambert notes.

“For the eighth year, we’ll be shining a light on and celebrating the incredible female talent and expertise we have in this country– a source of hope and optimism for us all, and something we certainly need right now.”

Know a brilliant woman doing exceptional things? Maybe it’s you. Don’t forget to get nominating! Finalists will be contacted in the final week of March, and announced publicly in the first week of April.
