The best upcoming events for women

It’s that time of the year again, the time when things start to get very, very busy.

To help you get to the best events, we’ve come up with the below list of upcoming events in November and December.

Don’t forget our Sydney breakfast with Jane Caro on the 26th November, and our upcoming Melbourne breakfast on the 2nd December.

Check out the list below, including special offers for Women’s Agenda readers.

SydStart 29th and 30th October 2015
Actionable insights from the best startup entrepreneurs and growth marketers in the world.

You might remember we had a little go at the founders of SydStart for failing to include women in their initial speaker announcement.

Well, find (some) women they did. And this event now features a great line-up including Envato founder Cyan Ta’eed, expert coder Nicky Ringland and Hijup.com CEO Diajeng Lestari, founder of the world’s first Muslim e-commerce fashion website.

Now we want to see more women in the audience. To help, SydStart has offered 10 free tickets to the first Women’s Agenda readers who register using the code ‘wagenda’, followed by a 50% discount for tickets sold after that.

Macquarie Women in Management: 6 November 2015
The Power of Inclusive Leadership Through Collaboration

Inclusive leadership and collective intelligence is at the heart of understanding how to take advantage of key developments and how to connect people and technology to work more intelligently.

So how do you get there? Find out from the experts at the one-day event, supported by Women’s Agenda and brought to you by the Faculty of Business at Macquarie University.

Speakers include the Hon. Kristina Keneally, CBA Executive General Manager Lyn McGrath, Red Kite CEO Jenni Seton and many more.

Inaugural Women in Leadership Forum: 20th November 2015, Sydney
Supporting Layne Beachley’s Aim for the Stars Foundation

Layne Beachley says great mentors were fundamental to her becoming the world’s most successful female surfer ever.

Now, she’s using her Aim For the Stars Foundation to give more young women such opportunities.

To help, she’s launched the Inaugural Women in Leadership Forum, a long Sydney lunch featuring a number of very big guest speakers: former prime minister Julia Gillard, Sydney Opera House CEO Louise Herron, Deloitte CEO Cindy Hook, the CSIRO’s Dr Cathy Foley and entrepreneur Holly Ransom.

Supported by Women’s Agenda, this event will share lessons learned by women in their respective leadership journeys.

Women’s Agenda Network Breakfast: Q&A with Jane Caro, 26th November

Jane Caro’s recently released memoir is excellent. And we just had to have her at our final Sydney breakfast event for 2015.

Jane’s an author, commentator and advertising guru, and speaks on everything from feminism to religion and the education system on programs such as Q&A, the Drum and The Gruen Transfer.

Her memoir’s called Plain Speaking Jane. In it she offers a very personal and detailed account of her journey from “high anxiety to not giving a toss”.

There’s plenty to learn from in Jane’s story. This promises to be a fun, inspiring and informative event.

(Our breakfasts regularly sell out. Book this one in early. )

Fearless, by She Business: 2nd December
A high-energy event for women in business … Hear from the change-makers, innovators and disruptors.

We’re still recovering from the 2014 Fearless event, established by Suzy Jacobs, and expect this one to be even more energizing.

This celebration of women in business features a line-up of diverse and inspiring speakers discussing everything from courage to defining your purpose, designing the life of your dreams and of course a serious energy injection from Suzy Jacobs herself.

Speakers include: NFP CEO Lucy Perry, and 15-year military veteran turned best selling author Matina Jewell,
