We have to treat climate change like the existential threat it is. As president, I will:
– End subsidies for fossil fuel corporations
– Ban new drilling on federal lands & waters
– Hold oil executives accountable
– Rally the world to raise the commitments of the Paris Agreement— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) March 16, 2020
The former Vice President in the Obama administration also told the empty studio that he would take gender into account when making Cabinet appointments.
“My Cabinet, my administration, will look like the country,” Biden said. “I’d pick a woman to be vice president. There are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president.”
His opponent made lower reaches, saying that if nominated, he would pick a woman “in all likelihood”.
Sanders acknowledged that he would surround himself with a representative team.
“Over half of the people in America are women. And that will be the representation in my cabinet and my administration.”

Currently, Biden holds the lead over Sanders with 890 delegates to Sanders’ 736 for the Milwaukee nomination; the candidates need 1,991 delegates to secure the nomination, which takes place in July.
So, who are the likely contenders for the VP position? Circulating names include California Senator Kamala Harris, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, Former Georgia House Democratic Leader Stacey Abrams and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, although she has not publicly endorsed Biden.
Biden and Sanders made these comments addressing gender after a video question from a voter was posed first to Sanders asking the Senator how he would guarantee his cabinet would be equipped to offer the best possible advice about women’s physical and financial health.
In a past Democratic debate, Biden said that if he is president, he would appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court for the first time in the nation’s history.
