Whether you disagree with their methods or not, one thing is undeniable: grassroots groups are the backbone of society and have shaped Australia in fundamentally positive ways.

Women have been key to the environmental movement. But through history, they have been silenced, sidelined, scorned, dismissed and belittled.

The great leaders are right in front of us. They are unexpected, they are diverse, they are varied, and they make us uncomfortable at times. They are young people.
