Coaxial has reached a significant milestone in its journey from vision to action, with the appointment of Philippa Watson as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer. The organisation, founded by Nicola Forrest AO to redistribute her personal wealth and drive systemic change, is dedicated to expanding opportunities for Australians—particularly young children, families, and communities facing disadvantage.
Watson brings a wealth of experience to the role, having built an impressive career in banking and leadership. Most recently, she served as CEO of the award-winning digital bank UBank, where she spearheaded transformation initiatives and innovative financial strategies. She is also a Director of Lifeline Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Her extensive background includes leading large-scale banking functions across consumer banking, technology and operations, finance, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy.
Nicola Forrest expressed her confidence in the appointment, stating: “Philippa is a proven leader with a remarkable track record in transformation and impact. Watson steps into the role at a pivotal time for Coaxial, as it transitions into delivery mode. With key initiatives already underway, including the organisation’s first philanthropic program, Project Oasis, her leadership will be instrumental in advancing Coaxial’s impact investment strategies and expanding its reach.

This leadership appointment follows the announcement of the Coaxial Foundation’s Board, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to delivering real, measurable impact through both business and philanthropy.
