North Sydney
Held by: LIBERAL
Margin: 9.2%
Current member: Trent Zimmerman
North Sydney was one of the first 75 electorates determined in 1900, with much of the area later becoming Warringah in 1922. A massive 56.4% of families in the area are considered “high income families”, coming in only behind Sydney’s Wentworth. The seat has long been safely held by Liberal, including by former treasurer Joe Hockey who retired in 2015, sparking a by-election that saw one of his former staffers, Trent Zimmerman, successfully elected – albeit with a massive 12.9% swing against the then Liberal Turnbull Government. Zimmerman went on to hold the seat at the 2019 Federal Election.
