She is a well-known community member and strong contender against backbencher and current member, Jason Falinski.
The GP and the former emergency doctor is keen to shake up the political focus in the Northern Beaches to centre on issues such as climate action, political integrity and affordable, quality health care.
UComms polling in the region in April (funded by Scamp’s campaign), found Dr Scamps held 23.9 percent of first preference votes, behind Falinski’s 35.2 percent.
By contrast, in 2019 Falinski won with 53 percent of first preferences.
Dr Scamps’ campaign is backed by the Climate 200 movement and founder Simon Holmes a Court – a group of independents campaigning against sitting Liberal MPs on climate change and political integrity matters.
The mother of three is passionate about sports – she is a former gold medallist runner and married to a former rugby player.
