Emma McBride - Women's Agenda

Emma McBride

Seat: Dobell
Party: Labor
Emma McBride is the current member for the Labor-held seat of Dobell. The former pharmacist won the ALP preselection for Dobell, succeeding incumbent MP Craig Thomson who had been suspended by the party in 2012. She was defeated by the Liberal candidate Karen McNamara at the 2013 election, but reprised her candidacy successfully in 2016. McBride has a strong interest in quality, free healthcare and re-shaping policy framework around mental health. As a specialist mental health pharmacist and deputy chair of the Select Committee on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, McBrise wants to see people suffering from mental health conditions and their carers better supported.
