Marion Scrymgour is the Labor Party candidate for the Labor-held seat of Lingiari.


Scrymgour was preselected by Labor for Lingiari for the 2022 election, after Labor member Warren Snowdon announced he would be retiring.


Scrymgour has had a long career in politics in the Northern Territory. She was a member for the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2012, and was the Deputy Chief Minister for the Northern Territory from 2007 to 2009. She was the first Indigenous woman to be elected to the Northern Territory parliament.


She has now turned her focus to federal politics, and is standing on the Labor Party’s policy platform.
