Peta Murphy is the current Labor member for the seat of Dunkley.


Murphy is the first woman to represent the seat of Dunkley, first elected to parliament in 2019.


Before politics, she worked in the justice system, as a barrister, public defender, and as team leader at the Victorian Law Reform Commission. She also worked as Chief of Staff to Labor MP Brendan O’Connor in 2017.


In parliament, she has been a member of the House of Representatives Selection Committee, Social Policy and Legal Affairs Committee, and Economics Committee.


Murphy is standing on the policy platform of the Labor Party.
