Sarah Richards
In 2019 she lost to current member, Susan Templeman, by just 371 votes – a result that took more than two weeks to determine.
Richards, a former solicitor and journalist, is a strong candidate for Macquarie, having already proven her commitment to the community as a local councillor.
Through her role at the local council she fought to secure funding for the Hawkesbury River Third Crossing and her work with small businesses.
As a mother of three school-aged children, Richards says she is particularly concerned about online abuse and cyberbullying and, if elected, will “fight for greater protections” of children.
She is passionate about reducing the cost of living pressures, improving road safety and improving services for the aged.
