Sheneli Dona

Sheneli Dona

Seat: Hume
Sheneli Dona is an independent candidate for the Liberal-held seat of Hume.

Dona says as a young, second-generation immigrant from Wollondilly, she was to “challenge the old preconceptions of what a politician should look like”.

Dona believes regular citizens’ voices are not being heard by politicians and says her experience in community activism will allow her to accurately represent the needs of her community.

Dona pledges to remain truly independent, with no ties to political parties, and to continually engage with her community to put their needs first.

At the time of writing this piece, Dona had not finalised her policies, but she hinted that affordable health care and climate action would feature in her action plan.
