Zali Steggall is the current independent member of Warringah.


Stegall was first elected to parliament in 2019, defeating former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, to become the first woman to represent Warringah.


Before politics, Steggall was an athlete, Olympian, and Australia’s most internationally successful alpine skier.

She is also a barrister, specialising in family law.


Steggall’s policy platform includes issues like climate leadership, a future-focused circular economy, integrity and trust in government, equality for all, and protecting the local environment.
