Amy Low has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of The Social Outfit, an ethical fashion brand employing and training people from refugee and new migrant communities.
Bringing extensive experience to the role, Low has a background in scaling brands, driving business transformation and aligning sustainability with commercial success.
She’s been aboard member of The Social Outfit since 2015 and has served as Vice Chair since 2020. Most recently, she served as the Global Marketing Director at Futurity Brands, where she achieved significant growth for the Piping Hot brand.
Low’s accomplishments include implementing new strategies, expanding global distribution, and developing an impact framework aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
“Amy’s expertise in retail, fashion, and consumer brands, combined with her values-driven leadership, makes her an excellent fit for our organisation,” said The Social Outfit, whose mission is supporting refugee women to kick-start their Australian careers.
As CEO, Amy will oversee all aspects of The Social Outfit’s operations, including commercial growth, ethical manufacturing, retail and online stores, and social impact programs. She will also work closely with the team, partners, and the community to drive strategic priorities and continued positive change.
The Social Outfit’s ethical fashion is made by refugees, locally in Marrickville, Sydney. They create environmental clothes that are bright, bold and aim to empower women– both those who make them and those who wear them.
The Social Outfit says Low is “eager to bring her experience in brand development, retail growth and product strategy” to the role.
“She sees significant potential to further establish us as a leading fashion brand and deepen our social impact. Her understanding of our unique market position and her experience in driving commercial outcomes will contribute meaningfully to our growth ambitions.”
