From this vantage point, it may as well be Christmas today. Last night the 2015 NAB Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards celebrations began with a small cocktail party to celebrate the finalists. And what a fabulous group of women they are.
Today the formal Awards ceremony will take place over lunch in Sydney, where 400 men and women will join us to celebrate our finalists and hear the former Prime Minister Julia Gillard speak.
These Awards are an opportunity for this community and the Women’s Agenda ethos to come to life. They are an opportunity to celebrate and champion female leadership and success in all of its guises, and it is an occasion and opportunity we relish.
It is thrilling and humbling to meet the women for whom Women’s Agenda stands. Women who have created their own versions of success.
This year’s finalists are as diverse as they are successful. We have a pilot, we have CEOs, we have medical researchers, entrepreneurs and leaders from the community sector. They come from all over Australia, and one even flew in from Geneva, and range from women in the early stages of their careers to established leaders.
The only thing better than meeting these women, was watching them meet one another and savour the deserved recognition.
We will be updating the site throughout the day so if you can’t be with us at lunch, but want to feel like you are, keep checking back.
You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook and we’ll be using the #WALA15 hashtag.
