Former Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin has joined the board of Airwallex SVF Pty Ltd as the fintech moves into the advanced stages of securing an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution licence in Australia.
Airwallex has appointed a number of people to the board of Airwallex SVF Pty Ltd this week, including Shannon Scott (SVP Global Head of Product at Airwallex) as executive director; Kelly Bayer Rosmarin as non-executive director; and Sangeeta Venkatesan, Andrew Palmer and Michael Venter as independent non-executive directors.
Bayer Rosmarin will also act as a strategic adviser to the Airwallex Group.
It comes after the Australian-founded company recently completed a US$300 million Series F funding round, bringing Airwallex’s total raised to US$1.2 billion, with a valuation of US$6.2 billion.
According to the company, it is currently in the final stages of an application for an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution licence for the issuance of purchased payment facilities from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
