Casino operator Echo Entertainment has appointed Katie Lahey as a non-executive director.
She joins Anne Brennan as one of two women on the board.
Lahey is currently the managing director of global recruitment firm Korn/Ferry International, and is the former head of Business Council of Australia, a position she held for over a decade.
Echo chairman John O’Neil welcomed Lahey’s appointment and said she would bring extensive business, government and tourism experience to the board.
Echo Entrainment operates The Star in Sydney and three casinos in Queensland.
Lahey’s appointment follows several departures from the Echo board, including the recently announced resignation of chief executive Larry Mullin, and controversy surrounding James Packer’s interest in the group.
