A man who was wanted by police for a separate outstanding warrant has been arrested at a home in North Bondi following the death of a young woman.

Police and paramedics were responding to a call in Sydney’s eastern suburbs at 9:20am on Tuesday morning when they discovered the woman. She was unresponsive and later was declared dead at the scene.

The woman is yet to be formally identified, but authorities believe she was 19 years old.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the North Bondi unit and taken to Waverley Police Station. According to police, the man was arrested on an “unrelated outstanding warrant” and has not been charged over the woman’s death.

A crime scene has been established at the North Bondi home with a post-mortem examination expected to identify her cause of death.

Police say the investigation into the 19-year-old woman’s death is ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au
