We’ve been running surveys on women’s ambition for several years now, identifying how ambitions have changed for Australian women and determining the obstacles standing in the way of women’s achieving their ambitions.
In 2025, we’re doing it again, surveying women across Australia to understand their future career ambitions and what – if anything – might be getting in the way.

This will be the 5th time we have undertaken this survey, which means we are able to examine how ambitions have and are changing over time.
We’re calling on all women to participate in the survey, sharing their career ambitions for the next two years and any key concerns about how they will achieve these goals.
We use the findings in stories across Women’s Agenda, and bring them into discussions we frequently facilitate at events, with policymakers, employers and advocates, to try and push anyone who can make a difference to women’s careers and lives to make the adjustments needed to do so.
In previous years, we’ve found that women have high ambitions to get promoted and earn more, but also share significant concerns about burnout and confidence hindering their careers. In 2023, more than three quarters of women (77 per cent) believed they may have experienced burnout in the past 12 months.
This year’s survey takes about 5 minutes to complete. Your responses are confidential, but once collated will go a long way in helping us get the attention of policymakers and employers in advocating for women.
