One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has delivered a speech at a conservative political conference at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.

Hanson confirmed to Sky News she would be speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)’s ‘circle retreat and gala’.

Hanson was pictured sitting next to Australian mining magnate Gina Rinehart in a series of photos posted to social media by CPAC. They were shown listening to US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

In a post on Instagram, Hanson wrote: “It was refreshing to stand in a room where common sense still matters. Where strong borders, national pride, energy independence, and putting your own people first aren’t dirty words, they’re priorities.”

“In just one year, under President Trump’s leadership, America is turning itself around. Meanwhile, back home, Australia is heading in the opposite direction.”

The Australian politician also attended a Halloween party thrown by Trump last week, which Rinehart also attended.

According to a report from the Sydney Morning Herald, Hanson said in her speech that Trump had turned the US around.

“It’s wonderful to be in America with a re-energised, strong and patriotic leader who has the best interest of his people at heart,” she said.

“In just one year, president Trump has turned this country around … Illegal migrants are being rounded up by ICE and sent home in remarkable numbers.”

Hanson has missed a fortnight of parliament for her trip to the US.

Her appearance at Mar-a-Lago comes as the latest polls show a surge in support for One Nation, with the party hitting a 15 per cent primary vote – a record high. Meanwhile, the Coalition is suffering in the polls, sitting at just 24 per cent.

Meanwhile, Barnaby Joyce is thinking about joining One Nation.
