The baby, who has not yet been named, was delivered healthily at 5.26am on the 6th of May. He will be seventh-in-line to the throne and has been described by his gushing father as “absolutely to die for.”
After the couple decided to do things their own way, vetoing the traditional post-birth photo shoot, a grinning Prince Harry fronted a very controlled and limited press gathering shortly after his son’s birth.
He announced that Meghan and the baby were doing incredibly well.
“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself have a baby boy….early this morning, he’s a very healthy baby boy.”
“Mother and baby are both doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could have every possibly imagined.”

The absolute picture of a proud husband and dad, he then went on to marvel at the strength of his wife during the birth.
“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.”
“We’re both absolutely thrilled. It’s been absolutely amazing and we wanted to share this with everybody.”

As for the family’s plans over the next few days, it is expected they will keep things very private.
“We’re still thinking about names. That’s the next bit,” Harry said.
“For us, we’ll be seeing you guys in two days time, as planned.”
While the world waits for a glimpse of the new royal baby, we have these adorable photos of his proud, over the moon dad.
