The role is network-wide and will focus on creating positive cultural change across the business. In conjunction with Krantz’s appointment, Dentsu Aegis has also committed to establishing a Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council to better monitor and report on D&I matters.
CEO Simon Ryan said Krantz’s appointment was a necessary step for the network.
“We believe that with a focus on creative thinking, diversity of perspectives, approaches and backgrounds our clients, talent and business will deliver outstanding results,” he said.
“Catherine’s proven track record in spearheading and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture gave me confidence in her ability to lead the way as Dentsu Aegis Network’s first head of diversity and inclusion. I look forward to supporting Catherine as we make progress.”
Krantz, a veteran of the business, first joined Mitchell’s in Melbourne in 2001 as an account director. Two years ago, she acquired the agency’s ‘people and culture’ head positon and was later promoted to general manager at Carat, another of the network’s agencies.
Krantz said that starting her new role would be a definite challenge but one she felt enthusiastic about.
“I am excited to work in partnership with the Diversity & Inclusion Council and executive leadership team as we continue to build a culture that brings out the best of our people by recognising and celebrating everyone as individuals,” she said.
