Single mothers ‘lazy’, according to political wannabe

We want to applaud all the single mothers out there, following One Nation candidate David Archibald’s “lazy” comments.

The Western Australia candidate once declared it’s a “lifestyle choice” to be e a single mother, and that single mothers are “too lazy to attract and hold a mate, undoing the work of possibly 3 million years of evolutionary pressure.”

The stupidity of the comments are astounding. Indeed, there’s one very good word to describe them: lazy. Archibald actually had the time and space to write them down, penning the comments in a 2015 Quandrant article.

It went on: “This [single mothers] will result in a rapid rise in the portion of the population that is lazy and ugly.”

(At this point, you might want to check out this website that appears on the first page of a David Archibald Google search. Lots of effort in it).

Single mothers are taking on the toughest job going – raising children – and they’re doing it alone. Some are working, others can’t afford to work given the prohibitively high cost of childcare, few have any opportunity to put their feet up, let alone engage in anything particularly ‘lazy’. Few again have been given much choice about raising children as single parents.

Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese (who was raised by a single mother) has called on Archibald to be sacked.

“I regard his comments as incredibly personally offensive but more importantly offensive towards all those single parents out there,” he said.

The idea that if you have a single mother then somehow you’re less of a human being really belongs way back in the dark ages and I find it incredibly offensive.”

So will Hanson be dumping Archibald? Apparently no.
