Taylor Swift has made history by becoming the first artist in US history to claim all Top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Ten of the 13 tracks from her latest LP “Midnights”, have made it to the Top 10, including Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow on the Beach, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled and Question … ?
The No. 1 spot went to “Anti-Hero” — a song which sparked controversy last week after a scene in the music video was deemed fatphobic.
“Midnights” is Swift’s tenth studio album, and her first new pop album since 2019. With the latest record, it ties the 32-year old with Barbra Streisand for the female artist with the most No 1 albums.
On Twitter, Swift wrote: “10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES.”
With her new Hot 100 Top 10s record, she now has a total of forty Top 10s — the highest number of Top 10s among female artists in the Billboard chart’s 64-year history.
“Midnights” release on October 21 broke records for the most streams of a single album in 24-hours on Spotify, and achieved the highest first-week streams of the year at 72.5 million. Swift also set a new UK record for the fastest succession of No 1 albums of any female artist.
“Midnights” also had the biggest first week sales of an album this year — at 1,578,000 in the US alone, according to the tracking service Luminate.
