Tickets for Sunday’s round one AFLW clash between Richmond and Brisbane Lions sold out in just over two hours on Monday morning.
It’s an historic moment for the AFLW competition that has made its 2021 season ticketed for the first time, with adult tickets costing $10. In the previous four seasons, attendance has been free.
The sell out clash between Richmond and Brisbane will be held at the Swinburne Centre at Punt Road Oval, located adjacent to the MCG. No further tickets will be allocated for the game, and the crowd will be at a reduced capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions.
It’s a Sunday sell-out at the Swinburne Centre!

The shift to ticketed games for this AFLW season is a welcome sign of progress for the game, especially in light of the 2020 season that was called off during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and had no premier. This year’s season will have nine rounds, with tickets for each round available online at the start of each week.
