On Mother’s Day, Melbourne based drinkware brand made by Fressko spotlighted the unseen faces of breast and ovarian cancer with their short film What I Carry With Me.
The short film features Lauren Philpot and Tarni Tsimeris who both lost their mothers to breast and ovarian cancer. In the film they reflect on the lasting impact their mums had on their lives—the values, strength, and spirit they carry with them every day.
As Tarni shares in the film, “What I carry with me is my choice of attitude… that’s what I always keep with me from my mum.”
Tarni was just nineteen years old when her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her mother’s advice on attitude continues to guide her to this day. Despite facing her own mortality, Tarni’s mum remained in control of her outlook “You essentially still have that choice and no one can take that away from you”.
Sadly breast and ovarian cancer affects many Australian families every single day, with 63 people diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer daily in Australia – and 12 lives lost.
In the face of these statistics, Lauren and Tarni remain hopeful and committed to change.
Fundraising is an important way to honour their mums’ legacies. As Lauren puts it, “Just like my mum, I want to be selfless and help others all the time.” She recalls how even in her last moments her mother was always thinking about others – always more concerned about how her illness was affecting the people around her.
The short film is supported by the launch of the Boobie Cup 2.0, which retails for $54.95, with $2.50 from each cup donated directly to the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation. Cups can be purchased here.
The Boobie Cup 2.0 represents connection, remembrance, and the ongoing fight against cancer. It’s a tribute to every woman who has faced this battle—and to the loved ones who carry their spirit forward.
