A woman was stabbed to death in South Australia yesterday, bringing the total count of women killed in acts of violence in Australia this year to 39, according to Destroy the Joint researchers.

Almost one third of the world’s women have experienced domestic violence, and 38% of women who’re murdered are killed by a current or former partner, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

While Australia has a national conversation on domestic violence, some of the harms of this violence remain in the shadows.
