How one US restauranteur responded to a request his female staff ‘show a little more skin’

Talk about giving your customers what they ask for.

When US restaurant owner Daniel McCawley found a review posted on UrbanSpoon calling for the female servers in his restaurant to, “show a little more skin”, he found a novel way to respond.

McCawley took action by giving the customer exactly what they asked for. “We took offense to the review and wanted to flip it in a positive way,” McCawley told Good Morning America.

Starting this week, his restaurant, Atomic Grill, which is located in West Virginia, will be offering a potato skin special for $7, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information Services.

“It was brutish,” he said of the comment. “I was upset. I’m a father of a 12-year-old girl and I’ve got five sisters. The way that women are treated is pretty personal as far as I’m concerned.”

Bur rather than just get upset about the review — which has since been deleted from UrbanSpoon — McCawley is making a positive statement and the support he’s received so far has been “tremendous” he said.

“My Facebook blew up overnight,” he said. “I really hope this will be a positive thing.”
