Michelle Rowland
Michelle Rowland is the current member for the Labor-held seat of Greenway. Rowland has represented the division since 2010 and been a member of the House of Representatives since 2013. Born in Blacktown, Rowland was a practicing lawyer in the communications industry before being elected Deputy Mayor of Blacktown. Over her extensive political career Rowland has held several positions in the shadow ministry in areas such as small business, communications and citizenship and multiculturalism. She believes strongly in equality and opportunity for everyone, irrespective of their background and circumstances. The mother of two has a Fijian mother and Australian father, however was ineligible for duel citizenship because, at the time of her birth, nationality through the maternal side was not recognised in Fiji.
