Elizabeth Boulton served for 20 years in the Australian Army, deploying to East Timor in 1999 and Iraq in 2004. She wrote Teaming which offered an alternate approach to cultural change in Defence; contributed to the history book Niche Wars Australia in Afghanistan and Iraq, 2001–2014; contributed a poem to Our spirit collection: creative works of Australian Defence Force women from 1960s onwards; and published “PLAN E: A Grand Strategy for the Twenty-First-Century Era of Entangled Security and Hyperthreats” with the US Marine Corps University Press in 2022.
