Melanie Saward

Dr Melanie Saward is a Bigambul and Wakka Wakka woman, based in Tulmur (Ipswich). She’s an author, academic, and publishing all-rounder. Her debut fiction novel Burn came out with Affirm Press in 2023 and her first romantic comedy novel Love Unleashed was released in 2024. Melanie is a speaker at the 2026 Blak & Bright Writers Festival, taking place in Narrm, Melbourne, from 3–6 September 2026.
