A man from far north Queensland is expected to face court today after he was charged with the murder of a woman in an alleged domestic violence incident.
Police were called to a property in Gordonvale, south of Cairns, on Sunday morning after reports of an armed man causing a disturbance. The 29-year-old man initially refused to cooperate with police but was taken into custody a short time later.
Police discovered the body of a 29-year-old woman inside the home.
The man was charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and investigations into the circumstances are still ongoing.
He is due to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
