Jacqueline Hey appointed chair of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank

Jacqueline Hay
Jacqueline Hey has today been named the next Chair of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Australia’s fifth largest retail bank.

Hey is the former boss of Ericsson in the UK and Australia, and is currently on the boards of Qantas, AGL, Cricket Australia and Bendigo Bank.

Her Chief Executive Women bio lists her as having an interest in “diversity and the richness it brings to society and decision-making” and as playing a strong role in the development and promotion of women in leadership.

She will succeed the retiring Robert Johanson, who leaves the board after 31 years as a director, at the end of October. He said Hey has the business experience and knowledge of the business to deliver what’s needed from the board.

Hey said in a press release on the announcement: “I am honoured to be appointed by the Board as Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s new Chair and am excited by the opportunity to continue to drive our competitive market position and prosperity for our customers and shareholders and their communities.

“I look forward to working with everybody connected with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank as we strive to be Australia’s bank of choice.”

Congrats Jacqueline Hey!
