While she said she took responsibility for the loss, she also noted she “was on the way to winning until a combination of [the FBI’s] Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were included to vote for me but got scared off.”
She added Russian President Vladimir President “interfered” and that “it’s clear he interfered to hurt me and help my opponent.”
Clinton told a New York luncheon at the annual Women for Women International event over night that the “enormous barrage of negativity, of false equivalency” all played a role, prior to the campaign falling apart with Comey’s letter and the Russian leaks.
Asked if misogyny was a factor, Clinton said it was and that misogyny is “very much a part of the landscape politically, socially and economically.”
