Several top women in theatre were awarded at this year’s Sydney Theatre Awards, taking home awards in performance and design categories.

Opera Australia has appointed its first ever female artistic director. Jo Davies, 52, will commence her historic role in November 2023.

Ann Mossop has been appointed the new artistic director for the Sydney Writers’ Festival (SWF), replacing Michael Williams.

Alan Jones sort of apologised, but he still isn’t convinced he bullied Opera House CEO Louise Herron last Friday when he threatened her job live on air.

Louise Herron stood up for Sydney, and stood up against Alan Jones in the face of the broadcaster threatening her job and saying she was “out of her depth”.
