Elladex celebrates triumphant launch off shores of Sydney Harbour

New female-founded Elladex app launches to support women

A new female-founded app called Elladex has launched, offering personal, financial and professional mentoring and advice for ambitious women.

Launched by Australian entrepreneur Shivani Gopal, the app marked its official start during a charter cruise of Darling Harbour, in Sydney, with Elladex’s ambassadors Tracey Spicer and Catherine Fox AM on board sharing a preview on the kinds of advice they will be sharing through the app.

“This moment has been a long time coming,” Gopal said on the launch. “We all have individual and collective greatness, and we can all work together to achieve our potential.”

“Sometimes we’re so busy, it’s our own selves that let our confidence down.”

The app offers women a chance to connect with mentors in their industry, and undertake weekly coaching sessions, networking opportunities, and other career development tools.

Gopal has been working on the app for many years, after spending the early part of her career as a financial planner and then going on to become an entrepreneur.

She says her greatest inspiration remains her parents, especially her mother, who came from a small village in Fiji, and was married at sixteen.

“My parents are my heroes … My mother was one of those women who was raised to be seen, not heard. But I saw as a little girl that my mother, along with my aunty, were the ones who handled the money,” said.

“I saw my aunty carry a black briefcase, and I saw her count cash. I thought, ‘women handle the money. Women carry the black briefcase’.”

Gopal said her key goal in creating Elladex is to provide a platform for like-minded career women to develop their personal, financial and professional skills to support them in achieving their own personal goals.

“Every path is different, and we need to meet you where you are today,” she said.

“We need to help you elevate your learning, reminding you that if you want to do something, you can do it. Find your own authentic leadership and that path will be yours. My key motto has always been — self educate before you delegate.”
