Global technology leader Robyn Denholm has joined the SafetyCulture board as a director.
Denholm will lead as director of the global operations platform in addition to her roles as Chair of the Board of Directors of Tesla Inc and Chair of The Technology Council of Australia.
As one of the most senior women in the global technology industry, she brings a wealth of experience and is a passionate advocate for the technology industry. Denholm is also one of the leading voices calling for more diversity in the sector.
“SafetyCulture’s mission is something that aligns with my personal values. I’m a firm believer that technology is the key to unlocking a more sustainable and safer future and from what I’ve seen, if SafetyCulture continues to evolve its platform and products at the same rate, then it has the potential to change the way that people go about their work,” said Denholm.
More than 70,000 organisations around the world use SafetyCulture to perform checks, train staff, report issues, automate tasks and communicate fluidly.
Denholm will be joining Luke Anear, Jan Hammer and Craid Tiley on the SafetyCulture board, and already has a close relationship with the leadership team, having been an advisor since late 2021.
“I’m delighted to join the SafetyCulture board as the company looks towards its next phase of growth,” said Denholm. “What Luke and the team have already accomplished is remarkable, and I look forward to contributing to the next chapter of this incredible story.”
Since January 2021, Denholm has been an operating partner of venture capital firm Blackbird Ventures. She’s also been a director of Tesla Inc since August 2014 and has been Chair of the Board since November 2018.
Prior to this, Denholm worked at Telstra, holding the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy, as well as serving as Chief Operations Officer. She has also held a range of executive roles at Juniper Networks, Sun Microsystems, Toyota and Arthur Andersen and Company.
Denholm is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia/New Zealand and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master’s degree in Commerce and a Doctor of Business Administration (honoris causa) from the University of New South Wales.
When Denholm steps into the role of SafetyCulture board director, she’ll be replacing Rick Baker, Blackbird’s co-founder and Partner, who has been a strategic advisor and SafetyCulture board member for the past 10 years.
SafetyCulture’s CEO and founder, Luke Anear said, “We’re thrilled to have someone of Robyn’s calibre on our board. Her expertise and guidance will help ensure we continue making sound strategic decisions and stay focused on achieving our mission.”
“Robyn is also an incredible role model and the opportunity for our team to work closely with her is invaluable.”
