“Bridesmaids” cast to appear during Oscars ceremony

Bridesmaids

Need a reason to tune into the Oscars next Monday? Well, how about seeing the girl gang of “Bridesmaids” reunite for a possible segment during the ceremony?

Rumour has it that the cast will be appearing together during the 2026 Oscars, which will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, hosted by Conan O’Brien.

The reunion will mark the hit comedy’s 15-Year Anniversary. Directed by Paul Feig and written by Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig, the movie was a box office hit, making US$289.6 million worldwide and earning multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for Melissa McCarthy and Best Original Screenplay.

Recall that it is also one of the most quotable movies ever — personal favourite scenes include Wigg and Byrne’s passive aggressive back and forth post-tennis match, their engagement party toast show-down, the mass defecation at the fancy wedding dress parlour, and Wigg’s verbal scrimmage with a teenage girl at the jewellery store.

At next week’s awards ceremony, Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy are set to appear onstage together. Byrne is nominated for the first time for her role in Mary Bronstein’s feminist comedy drama “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”, for which she won a Golden Globe last month.
