Why we're saying no to sleep! - Women's Agenda

Why we’re saying no to sleep!

It’s early, very early. And we’ve been up for hours.

We’ve decided to completely ‘disrupt’ our day to help make your day better.

We’ve just launched a new look, reset Women’s Agenda email. Our daily newsletter especially curated for busy, working women.

We want to help you stay smart and get savvy. We’ll continue sharing our regular news and views, but also now offer short answers to some of the big questions on the news agenda — so you’re ready for every conversation.

We’ll also use this newsletter to feature great offers, the best events happening for women, and lifestyle features.

And every day we’ll award the ‘Daily Agenda Setter’ title to a different woman who’s doing something seriously special.

This is the daily read for busy women.

Like all things, it’s a work in progress and we’re open to feedback.

Indeed we have some big goals for this and we’d love your help.

Why are we doing this?

We’ve been publishing Women’s Agenda for almost four years now and have developed a following across multiple platforms. But it’s those who subscribe to our daily newsletter who we’ve found to be particularly engaged with what we do. We’ve got a strong, loyal following of women who happily put up with us in their inbox every single day — and we’ve done it without any major marketing efforts.

A few weeks ago we asked how subscribers engage with the newsletter. What we found was a big majority (much more than we thought) like receiving it every day, despite not always having the time to read it.

So we brainstormed one key question: ‘What could we do to make sure you did have time, that it would become a daily habit?’ We needed to make it information rich but scannable, an easy, conversational read but still with enough depth to help you stay on top of the issues that matter. We then saw an opportunity to move beyond creating a vehicle for you to just click in to our website. Instead, we realised we could offer a new and improved service that can make your lives a little bit easier, your careers a little more successful and your day a lot more fun.

We can’t please everyone. Some of you will still prefer to receive this at lunchtime (you know you can still just open us then, we’ll be waiting, in your inbox). But we want the Agenda to be as much a part of your day as your morning coffee, or pressed juice, or whatever it is that gets you through.

Our newsletter will be our core product going forward and we’re going to ramp up our marketing efforts to get more women hooked and engaged in this little community.

We’ve set ourselves the goal of doubling our subscription base by the end of the year — while we work to make the site better, and launch our other big 2016 initiative later this week.

So if you haven’t subscribed to our newsletter, get in and do so now!

And if you do subscribe, why not help a friend or colleague out (as well as this very grateful small publishing business) and tell them all about us.
