I touch myself: Chrissy Amphlett’s anthem to raise breast cancer awareness

Chrissy Amphlett’s dying wish to have the Divinyls’ hit song I touch myself become an anthem for breast cancer awareness has been realised.

This week, ten of Australia’s leading female artists have joined together to release a music video of the hit song to raise awareness (and funds) for breast cancer, and promote routine self-examination among women for early detection of lumps or changes in the look or feel of their breasts.

The release of the clip, which features Olivia Newton-John, Megan Washington, Sarah McLeod, Katie Noonan, Sarah Blasko, Suze DeMarchi, Deborah Conway, Kate Ceberano, Little Pattie and Connie Mitchell, marks the one year anniversary of Amphlett’s death at 53, following her own battle with breast cancer.

The video clip also coincides with the launch of the I Touch Myself Project , and features celebrity ambassadors including Deputy Opposition Leader Tanya Plibersek, celebrity chef Kylie Kwong and RocKwiz’s Julia Zemiro.
