The best flexible jobs for women this week

Here at ProfessionalMums.net and Women’s Agenda, we like to keep an eye out for the best flexible jobs each week. This week legal and accounting jobs take the top slots, but we’ve also kept our eye out for HR and marketing roles.

DLA Piper has a role for a risk management/compliance lawyer in its Sydney office. I like this role because it’s what I term full-time flexible, so it’s a full-time role but the firm is open to flexible working arrangements including how the day is arranged as well as the opportunity to work from home.

I’ve written in the past that full-time flexibility is my personal preferred way of working. It’s where the output and key performance indicators are clearly defined but you have a lot of flexibility around how it is delivered. I like it because I think it neatly side-steps the problem of delivering a full-time output in a part-time arrangement and also makes it easier to continue to progress your career. I do know that it’s not for everyone however.

BDO also has a great role this week for a part-time private client advisor also in Sydney. The role is 3 or 4 days a week working with the private client team. Typically, part-time roles of this nature can be rare which is why I wanted to highlight it.

The firm also has another part-time role for a bookkeeper in Cairns, which is 3 days a week. I know from experience that there are some very highly skilled women in the regions who are looking to return to work after a career break and this could be a great re-entry role.

Other roles I have seen this week that look good in terms of flexibility include a part-time HR Business Partner role with Viacom that is listed on LinkedIn and a part-time marketing manager role at Cognology that is listed on Seek.

ProfessionalMums.net working with Women’s Agenda wants to highlight the best flexible roles in the market each week. We will focus on jobs provided by the firms that partner with ProfessionalMums.net and Women’s Agenda Select Employer but do get in touch if you have a really great job that you think we should profile.

Just one final note – we do think that flexibility should be available for everyone, so although we are highlighting these roles on this site it should be noted that they are roles that are open to men and women.
