Cate Blanchett’s perfect message in the wake of Harvey Weinstein

In the wake of Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump and a tidal wave of #MeToo confessions from women everywhere, Cate Blanchett (AKA the queen) delivered a powerful message for men in Hollywood at this week’s Instyle Awards.

Collecting the gong for ‘Icon of Style’ Blanchett referred to true icons of style, being “women who know how they look is not all of who they are, but just an extension of that.”

“It’s about women who feel free to wear what they want, when they want and how they want to wear it. I mean, you know we all like looking sexy but it doesn’t mean we want to fuck you” she said.

She would have already won the night with that perfect one liner, but she topped it off by chipping Donald Trump’s right hand man, Steve Bannon in the process.

“No one says to Steve Bannon, ‘You look like a bag of trash. Do you want me to throw you out?’ But the comments that get said about what women wear on the red carpet — I mean. If you troll through those trolls on the internet, just don’t.”

The audience, which included Cindy CrawfordBrie Larson, Selena Gomez and Ellen Pompeo cheered loudly.

As did all the women in the world.
