The Katering Show on Sarah Wilson & quitting sugar

If you’ve been keeping up with Kate McClennan and Kate McCartney’s hilarious new YouTube cooking show spoof, you’ve probably seen this episode where they make fun of I Quit Sugar author Sarah Wilson. The episode has caused a bit of a stir – Wilson responded to the parody of her yesterday.

“It’s friggen funny. And only made funnier for me because it squarely takes the piss out of me, without being snarky,” she said.

But she did make sure to clear up two mistakes the comedians made in their spoof. They said quitting sugar meant cutting out both fruit and all types of alcoohol.

“I. Eat. Fruit,” she said. “I drink alcohol. Most nights.”

The comedians have now issued their own response to Wilson’s comeback:

“We’ve just read Sarah’s blog post and have each turned a deep shade of rose because of the blushing. We have massive crushes on Sarah; so much so that we’ve stopped using petrochemicals in our skincare regime and McLennan has purchased herself a green pair of shorts for her weekend hikes. We’re so glad that Sarah has taken the ‘We Quit Sugar’ episode in the spirit intended; a love letter from two deranged women who are currently eating a failed chocolate cake direct from the tin.”
