Olivia Rodrigo distributes free condoms and morning-after pills during her concert

Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has given out free condoms and morning-after pills to a crowd during her concert at St. Louis, Missouri — a state where abortion is illegal except in cases of medical emergencies.

The 21-year old singer is touring the world on her GUTS tour, promoting her abortion-rights initiative, Fund 4 Good and announcing that she plans to donate a portion of her tour’s total ticket sales to abortion funds across the country.

On Tuesday, aided by the Missouri Abortion Fund, she distributed condoms and Julie morning-after pills – a progestin‑only emergency contraception.

One concert-goer shared a photo of two emergency contraceptive pill boxes on X, captioning it “free planb at @oliviarodrigo in st. louis tonight…”

Following the concert, representatives from Julie released a statement. “We launched Julie to rewrite the morning-after experience for a new generation,” the statement read.

“Replacing the stigma and shame often associated with emergency contraception with access, exploration and education is core to who we are, and we’re thankful for artists like Olivia Rodrigo and initiatives like the Missouri Abortion Fund who share our mission.”

Since her GUTS tour began in February, there have been National Network of Abortion Funds tables set up at each tour location. The network is a collection of 100 abortion funds and grassroots organisations working to support people seeking abortion access.

Kicking off her tour last month in California, Rodrigo said on TikTok, “A portion of all of the proceeds from the GUTS World Tour will go to the Fund 4 Good.”

“And for the North American leg of the GUTS World Tour, I’ll be partnering with the National Network of Abortion Funds to help those impacted by health care barriers and getting the reproductive care they deserve.”

Rodrigo launched her fund in September 2022 after the overturning of Roe v. Wade three months earlier. She was performing at the Glastonbury Festival when the decision came through. She joined UK singer Lily Allen on stage, dedicating Allen’s song Fuck You to the Supreme Court judges who voted to overturn it.

“This song goes out to the justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh…we hate you,” Rodrigo said at the time

“I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a shit about freedom.”

“I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this.”

According to the official Fund 4 Good website, Rodrigo’s initiative works to “ensure those most impacted by systemic racism, misogyny, and healthcare barriers can get the reproductive care they deserve.”
