Podcast: Talking business and life in politics with Angela Vithoulkas

Sydney City Councillor Angela Vithoulkas joined Georgie Dent and Angela Priestley in the studio this week for the Work It Out podcast, talking the latest news and trends affecting women at work.

We talk about Angela’s career in small business and hospitality — as well as successfully campaigning in two council elections.

Angela also reveals why avid ‘Work It Out’ listeners can hear the sound of coffee cups clinking in the background — because we’re recording in a studio, at the back of her Vivo Cafe!

She left school in year 11 to pursue her childhood ambition of running businesses, working in a kitchen for a couple of years before starting her own cafe.

“I was born in a shop. When my mother was pregnant with me she went into labour while serving. She asked me to wait until lunch was finished,” she says.

The trio also talk trolls, small business, managing competing priorities and women in politics.
